Brookgreen Gardens
via
I've always loved this statue along highway 17 just south of Myrtle Beach. I wondered what it was and why it was there and finally found out! Brookgreen Gardens is a sculpture garden and is the oldest one in the US. It was established in the 30s and contains over 1400 sculptures by more than 350 artists. We were driving home from visiting some friends last weekend and I figured it would be our last chance to explore the gardens behind the statue so we decided to stop. I was so pleased! The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. There were plenty of beautiful flowers in bloom and there was even a little zoo! If you're headed to coastal South Carolina this is a must-see!

I loved this sculpture....it looked like ocean waves....it was about 15 ft long
This one reminds me of Narnia
Thanks for visiting Army Wife and Mom. I'm a new follower and I think we have a lot in common. I can't wait to read more!
