Derby Marathon 2015
Peter and I had our first night away mostly without kids in 4 years! It was amazing!!! Here we are on the road. We left the boys in Lexington and headed up to Louisville!
Aww. Almost 8 years together and we are still rocking the matchy matchy shirts.
Haven't had one of these in FOREVER.
I wish K-girl wasn't blurry but here we are headed in to pick up Peter's race packet. She is wearing one my dresses from childhood!
The Inn at the Park. The race course was right along the front and then turned down the side of our B&B which was on a corner. I literally had to step out the door and could cheer Peter on!
Everything was in bloom. Beautiful! Our neighborhood in IL is lacking pretty trees like this and I didn't realize how much I've missed it!
KJ had fun exploring.
We stayed in the carriage house. It was empty so we had the whole place to ourselves. It was simply gorgeous!!
The living area.
Dining area. There was a small bedroom and kitchen behind these rooms and then 2 large suites upstairs.
Gotta love a TP fleur-di-lis.
Headed out to get some dinner!
Dinner with one kid is so quiet!
The courtyard and the carriage house.
Three musketeers
The breakfast table
We got up at 6:30 to drop Peter at the start. Then headed back to cheer him on around mile 5 at our B&B.
Here he comes!! This was before it started POURING.
Post-race. He crushed his previous time by 6 minutes!!!!
Gotta get a picture with a horse when you are in Louisville. Kelsey says she is done.
We had such a great time! So thankful that the boys got to spend some quality time with my parents after living so far away for so long! And we sure appreciated the night away!
