Mish Mash

Lot's of fun stuff going on around here.....in fact it might qualify as miscellany so I'm going to link up to my friend Carissa's weekly post!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1.  Jillian Michaels is a professional butt kicker.

I've been back into exercising for a couple of months now.  I did the 30-day shred pretty consistently for about a month and then I switched to running.  Because it has been raining here I decided to bust out Jillian again.  Seriously.  How can a video wreak so much havoc on my body.  I guess I should be proud that I got the whole way through Level 1. Being sore is a good thing right?  Whenever I tell Peter I am sore he laughs and says "great!".....not exactly the reaction I am looking for!

2. Stafford's 1/2 Birthday

I can't believe that 6 months ago this little guy.....

 looked like this!!!!
This little man has completely stolen his Mama's heart. He makes me smile everyday and I am SO thankful for the blessing of being his Mama! I hope the next six months goes a little slower than this one but I don't think it will!!

3.  Fashion Crisis

I am enjoying this new blog I found about fashion.  Check it out and enter Hope's giveaway!  Well, just check it out.  I want to win the giveaway!! :)

4. Fast Food Stepping it Up

I love McDonald's.  I can hear the collective blogging community groan after reading that line because everyone I know (besides my Mom...Hi Mom!!) seems to think McDonalds is at the bottom of the food chain.  I  don't care.  I love a McD's fountain Diet Coke.....I love their cheeseburger....I love their new frappachinos (1/2 the price of Starbucks and just as good if not better!!)....I LOVE their fries.....and I love ketchup.  That doesn't have anything to do with McDonald's in particular but I just needed to mention it.

5. Ketchup Lovers

Speaking of ketchup I have no less than 2 friends who carry ketchup in their car or purse "just in case".  Do other people do this?  Do you carry anything else like ranch dressing or BBQ sauce?  I want to know!!  Also...what is the strangest thing you put ketchup on?  I only put ketchup on normal things like hotdogs, burgers or fries.....but I've heard some stories of strange ketchup use.  Tell me yours!!

6. LOVE

This is the month of love....and I've never felt so much LOVE!!  I got on this kick when I was pregnant and decided to refused to complain about my pregnancy.  I took that a little further and started just being thankful for the blessings in my life and really recognizing them instead of just saying "Thank you God for my blessings."  The more you write them down and become concious of them....the more blessings you realized you've been blessed with!  The  more thankful I am the fuller my heart seems to be and it is full of LOVE right now!!

Photobucket

Over at Jhen's blog she is hosting a photo challenge.  For once it has nothing to do w/ how correct the photo is...yay!!!  It's all about how it shows LOVE and your interpretation of it.  I had SUCH a hard time choosing my picture.  I have 1/2 of dozen of Stafford and I LOVE....I have pictures of Peter and I where it is clear we are in LOVE....but I had to go back to this one....

I've reference this picture before when Stafford was still little bitty.  He was 11 days old in this picture.  I love looking at the contrast between Daddy & Stafford.  He is so tiny and yet we already loved him so much.  I LOVE seeing my sweet husband as a Daddy.  It is the perfect picture of a Father's love.  Whenever I see this picture it reminds me of a song.  These are my two favorite verses:

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

When I remember that GOD was actually a FATHER.....it blows me away.  The idea that he could offer His Son as a ransom for my sins.....it blows me away.  I see how much my sweet husband loves his Son....how he rushes to him when he cries....how how calms him....how he holds him....how he treasures him....it blows me away.  The magniture of the Fathers love for us is unparalleled.....the magnitute of Christ's pain on the cross is unparalleled....yet the Father still chose to have his only SON go through that pain for me, a wretch.  I am his treasure!  Blows me away.....

Those are some of the random thoughts going on in my head today!  I hope your day is full of LOVE and thankfulness!!!  Remember, you are God's treasure!!!

I'm just about to get my butt kicked. I'm thinking of turning on mute... Jillian is somewhat annoying day after day. But it works, so I can't help but like her.
