Reed's 8 Month Update
Dear Reed,
I can hardly believe you are 8 months old. I remember when you were born thinking about Christmas-time and how old you would be. It seemed so far away. And now we are past it and you just keep growing up by the minute.
You've been very busy this month. You've perfected your stair climbing and are crawling like a champ. You should be since you've already had months of practice! You love to climb over things and we love finding you in funny positions, usually stuck with your feet and arms flailing.
You are so jolly and happy. You get a kick out of lots of things and just laugh and laugh. It's so fun to get you going. You also never keep socks on--see the picture above? Yeah, you never have socks on. I find them everywhere around they house except on your feet.
You are a great eater. You are very insistent as soon as we get you into the high chair so we try to have something ready for you. So far you enjoy just about anything we give you. I've done more of a mix of baby-led weaning and purees this time around. You've seemed ready for chunky food and so I've let you enjoy it!
You are still in size 2 diapers and I've moved you mostly into your size 6-9 and 6-12 clothes. It depends on the brand. 6-9 is still too big for you in Carter's but you can fit into the 6-12 from Gymboree. You have a tiny little waist and sometimes when you wake up from your nap your pants have fallen off. You still don't have any teeth. Your hair is starting to really come in and it is blond.
You've taken another airplane ride of two this month. We traveled back East for both Thanksgiving (for Grandaddy's funeral) and for Christmas. You were good on the airplane for the most part. You've enjoyed spending time with your grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
You are still loving toys of all types. And you love to do anything your big brother is doing. So far you guys are great friends--as much as you can be at this age. You smile and smile at him and he will give you kisses.
I am overwhelmed with how much I love you my sweet boy. You make my heart so happy. Your Daddy and I pray every day for you. That you will love Jesus and make the decision to follow him. We are so very blessed to be your parents.
Love,
Mama & Daddy
