1 Month Update

Dear Reed,

You are one month old! We can't believe how quickly the time is passing already. Sometimes it seems like you just arrived and other times it seems like we have never been without you. We are so blessed to have you as our son (and brother!!).

You are still wearing your newborn clothes and diapers. You were 8 pounds 13 ounces when you arrived and at your 1 month appointment today you weight 10 pounds 4 ounces. You were 22.25 inches. I think you might be taller than your brother!

So far you aren't a super great sleeper. You do seem to understand the difference between day and night which is nice. But you are still waking every 2.5 to 3 hours to eat during the night. Last night you did give us a nice 4 hour stretch and we were very thankful! We swaddle you and night and you seem to like it. You take a pacifier during the day when you are fussy and need to sleep but so far at night you haven't used it.

So far you've had a little bit of trouble with your tummy and you definitely have an angry cry when you don't feel well! But usually you are a sweet and sometimes even smiley baby!

I can't believe you are already starting to smile and coo at us but I love it! You have big beautiful blue eyes and when you decide to be awake you have them open very wide.

You are sleeping in our room in the pack and play and just like last time Mama and Daddy split the nightly chores. Daddy gets the diaper and Mama gets to feed you. You eat very quickly during the night which is nice because Mama is usually exhausted from keeping up with you and your brother all day!

The weather here has been nice so we have been on a few walks, to the zoo and up to Seattle with your grandparents. They came to visit all the way from Kentucky. You had a great time with them!

We can't wait to see what the next few months bring! We are looking forward to seeing your personality develop and loving on you as much as we can! We love you so very much!!
